Benzoyl peroxide gels and creams available OTC.
Topical antibiotics should not usually be used long term due to the possibility of the development of bacterial resistance.
Stop treatment after 12 weeks, and consider using benzoyl peroxide as a substitute instead if necessary.
All treatments should be trialled for 6 to 8 weeks prior to assessment of efficacy
